ELCA Advocacy offers two Lenten resources:
  • ELCA World Hunger’s “40 Days of Giving” Lent devotional focuses on the connections between faith and economic justice as we follow Christ’s journey to the cross. A number of pages highlight some of the work of our State Public Policy Offices with suggestions for advocacy actions.
  • The ELCA AMMPARO initiative released the “I Was A Stranger” Bible and Prayer challenge. It focuses on meeting people who have been displaced with the heart and love of God.

ELCA is an organization that works on equality of status. In our society, the concept of higher class and middle class matters a lot. So to maintain peace and justice in society you have to take care of equality.

Our church sits in an ancestral homeland of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe. Christian colonizers forced their ancestors into missions and seized their land. We grieve the loss of indigenous lives, the destruction of indigenous culture, and the commodification of indigenous land. God calls us to a right relationship with this land and its past, present, and future caretakers. Muwekma neighbors are a sovereign people. May we live in solidarity with them and repair Creation with all.
