Join University Lutheran Church for Advent and Christmas.

  • Sundays in Advent, 10am
    • Sunday mornings, we worship at 10 am and the season's lessons point us toward the peace and justice of God's reign as well as toward the incarnation of Christ. Advent hymns are hopeful, the liturgy is reflective, and the eucharist is celebrated every Sunday.
  • Community Christmas Celebration - Date TBA for 2023, 7:00 pm
    • This is kind of a "Christmas Pageant for All Ages" - there is audience-singing, storytelling, poetry reading, joke-telling, choir music, instrumental music, and small ensembles. We will also be collecting food and clothing for those in need.
  • Blue Christmas Service - Thursday, December 21, 2023, 7:00 pm
    • This service is less celebratory, is more hopeful, and acknowledges the stress and pain sometimes associated with this time of year. Join us for a quiet, interactive, prayerful service, open to each and all.  For more information, see our Blue Christmas page.

  • Christmas Eve - Saturday, December 24, 5:30pm
    • Candles, singing, communion, and the old, familiar story of God's birth into the creation - this is a central celebration of Christianity and shapes who we are as Christian people, proclaiming God's presence in and with the creation.

Our church sits in an ancestral homeland of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe. Christian colonizers forced their ancestors into missions and seized their land. We grieve the loss of indigenous lives, the destruction of indigenous culture, and the commodification of indigenous land. God calls us to a right relationship with this land and its past, present, and future caretakers. Muwekma neighbors are a sovereign people. May we live in solidarity with them and repair Creation with all.
