Meet the UniLu Team!

Our Ministers... Every member of the congregation is a minister.  Each of us is given opportunities in daily life to be about the work of sharing God's gracious and redeeming word. Join us in the work of study, worship, fellowship, and works of justice.
UniLu Palo Alto
UniLu Church Council - email
If you would like to come to a council meeting to observe, share a perspective, or participate in a discussion, feel free to join us. We meet the first Thursday of the month over Zoom. Contact the Council or the Office Manager for the Zoom link.

Pr. Corrie
Our Interim Pastor is Corrie Lassen - email
Pastor Corrie was ordained nearly forty years ago and has a lot of experience in interim ministry. She really likes working with people and churches in transition, because they are so real. An eclectic and creative person, she is actually an Episcopal priest (long story) and an artist in paint and fiber. Fifteen years ago, she helped lead the Episcopal Lutheran Campus Ministry at Stanford with Pastor Greg, our previous pastor.

Carol DZ
Our Worship and Music Director is Carol DeZutti.
A Bay Area native, who grew up worshiping in and working for the Lutheran church. Carol is an award-winning pre-school teacher, and she and her husband have raised their (now grown) children at UniLu.

Bill W
Our Choir Director is Bill Walker.
A lifelong pianist and singer. He earned a Ph.D in computers and music at the University of Illinois before coming to the Bay Area in the mid-1990s to pursue a career in software engineering and management. He loves to relate the history of sacred music to our current worship experience. Bill also enjoys playing jazz piano and photographing birds.

Our church sits in an ancestral homeland of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe. Christian colonizers forced their ancestors into missions and seized their land. We grieve the loss of indigenous lives, the destruction of indigenous culture, and the commodification of indigenous land. God calls us to a right relationship with this land and its past, present, and future caretakers. Muwekma neighbors are a sovereign people. May we live in solidarity with them and repair Creation with all.
