Community Sunday Evenings

UniLu is a community that is open to all, at all times. But, we want to make a special invitation to you, our neighbors, to join us on Sunday evenings for Community Nights for various kinds of fun and fellowship. Following is a schedule of what Sunday evenings look like around here - sometimes it's Game Night or sometimes it's Storytelling Night currently; there will almost always be food (when in-person), and all are welcome. Note: In Lent, our worship services move to Sunday evenings - we will adjust this schedule for those 6 Sundays plus Easter.)

Game Night - 2nd Sunday of the Month

A couple of our members have hundreds (literally hundreds) of games to share! We gather on the second Sunday of the month for Game Night - board games, card games, word games, kids' games, strategy games, all kinds of games! You are welcome to bring a game, a snack, and/or a friend, but you are also welcome to just bring yourself. It's a lot of fun; Join us at 6:00 for an opening game, followed by a break for dinner and then dividing into groups for more games!

Note: We meet in person on even months (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec) and odd months online via Zoom (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov).

Storytelling Night - 3rd Sunday of the Month

In regular times, we gather for a put-luck snacky-dinner and an evening of storytelling. During Covidtide, we meet online, provide our own dinner, but still tell stories. You can read all about it in Storytelling Night, but the basic format is that we gather at 6:00 PM (PT). You are welcome to just listen if you don't want to tell a story.

Note: We meet in person on odd months (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov) and even months online via Zoom (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec).

Our church sits in an ancestral homeland of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe. Christian colonizers forced their ancestors into missions and seized their land. We grieve the loss of indigenous lives, the destruction of indigenous culture, and the commodification of indigenous land. God calls us to a right relationship with this land and its past, present, and future caretakers. Muwekma neighbors are a sovereign people. May we live in solidarity with them and repair Creation with all.
