Meet the Team!

Our Ministers: Every member of the congregation is a minister. Each of us is given opportunities in daily life to be about the work of sharing God's gracious and redeeming word. Join us in the work of study, worship, fellowship, and works of justice.

The Church Council meets once a month. If you would like to come to a council meeting to observe, to share a perspective, or to participate in a discussion, feel free to join us. You can email the council as a whole at email: email: council@UniversityLutheran.Church

Our Vicar is Tim Rosenberger. Rev. Dr. Tim Rosenberger grew up in Cleveland, OH and graduated from Georgetown University in 2016. He paid his way through an AB in English and Performing Arts by working more than a dozen jobs, as diverse as licensed realtor and dance club bouncer. Vr. Tim then worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company while completing an M.Div. at United Lutheran Seminary and a D.Min. at the Rawlings School of Divinity. He concurrently completed 4 Clinical Pastoral Education Units with the Christ Hospital and served as a field education student at Messiah Lutheran Church. Tim holds an LL.M. from the University of Vienna and is completing a JD/MBA at Stanford University, where he is President of the Federalist Society and serves on Law Review. He has worked on the policy teams at the Cicero Institute and Hoover Institution, studying the intersection of law, faith, and business – with a particular focus on helping America’s overlooked populations build lives of dignity and purpose. Vicar Tim is leading our congregation as we await our interim pastor.

Our Worship and Music Director is Carol DeZutti, a Bay Area native who grew up worshiping in and working for the Lutheran church. Carol is an award-winning pre-school teacher, and she and her husband have raised their (now grown) children at UniLu.

Our Choir Director is Bill Walker, a lifelong pianist and singer. He earned a Ph.D in computers and music at the University of Illinois before coming to the Bay Area in the mid 90's to pursue a career in software engineering and management. He loves to relate the history of sacred music to our current worship experience. Bill also enjoys playing jazz piano and photographing birds.
