"When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the Lord your God." (Leviticus 19:9-10)
Our Garden - Dedicated to St. Francis and St. Clare
St. Francis and St. Clare, patrons of our metropolitan area (San Francisco and Santa Clara Valley) had a special concern for the poor. To them, we dedicate our receiving area, garden and work spaces as a place of helping the poor grow and glean their own food. Join us in this project!
The Garden is a place for propagating edible perennials which will then be planted into the landscapes of churches, mosques, temples, and synagogues to create edible landscapes accessible to those in need for gleaning or growing their own food.
